Second Annual Senior Recital of Classical Song
Regrettably,
due to the huge number of college and Leaving Certificate examination
students amongst our senior pupils this year, it was decided that the
Recital of Classical Song would be postponed until further notice to
accommodate our pupils, and to ensure that they continue to perform to a
high standard with their studies as well as their singing.
Our
sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Special Annual Gala Concert
In aid of the St. Mary’s Church (and its
organ)!
The studio presented our its thirteenth Gala Concert in
the National Concert Hall on Monday 28th of March, 2011. The students of the Máire Ledwith Butler Singing Studio
performed alongside dancers from the Marie Keating School of Ballet, the
award-winning Classicus Youth Chamber Choir, and special guests:
fourth-class pupils from St. Mary’s Parish Boys’ and
Girls’ Schools, Ballsbridge. Niamh Murray was welcomed back as
presenter. The concert was in aid of organ renewal in St. Mary’s
Church, Haddington Road, and the concert included
familiar favourites such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Sound of Music, along with
beautiful selections from the classical repertoire, and was a hit with the
audience, widely hailed as the best concert to date!
Our Annual Christmas
Concert, was held in St. Mary’s
Church, Haddington Road, on Friday, December 10th
2010. This year’s concert was a combined effort from both our
Ballsbridge and Stillorgan schools and, in order to showcase as many of our
young singers as possible, the concert was divided into a senior and a
junior concert, which ran back to back. In spite of the challenging weather
conditions, most all of our students braved the snow and both our senior
and junior concerts were a success. Well done to you all!
