Inaugural Recital of Classical Song

Marking a new departure for the Máire Ledwith Butler Singing Studio, a collection of the studio’s most experienced performers will be hosting the first Annual Recital of Classical Song, Saturday, May 15^th 2010.

Please note that there has been a change in a venue. The recital will take place in the beautiful setting of The Pepper Canister Church, beginning at 1.30pm.

The programme will include select pieces encompassing Chansons, Lieder, operatic arias and twentieth century art song. Classicus Youth Chamber Choir will also perform “Zadok the Priest” and the “Hallelujah” Chorus from Messiah, both by Handel. 

Tickets can be purchased at the venue prior to the recital

Last November - as part of the Maire Ledwith Butler Singing Studio’s tenth birthday celebrations - the studentstook on their most ambitious projects to date, presenting two very special performances: Schubert’s Lilac Time and Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

Both productions took place in the beautiful Mill Theatre, located in the Dundrum Town Centre. The shows were a sell-out success, and further performances are on the way next year.
